The morning greeted me with clear skies. So I decided to walk around the Central Basin of Lake Burley Griffin. I visited the National Capital Exhibition, which also houses the information center, and explored the exhibition about the history of Canberra's creation (see Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planhauptstadt#Canberra_.28Australia.29). Another stop on the walking tour was the Australian War Memorial, which is also one of the largest military museums in the world. The War Memorial was planned in 1925 to commemorate those who died in World War I. This impressive monument is definitely worth a visit. Walking along the Anzac Parade from the lake is quite impressive. After visiting this monument, I continued on the Central Basin to the other side of the lake. I concluded today's excursion with a visit to the Rose Garden at the Old Parliament House.
