So now it's time, in my home country the beloved carnival is being celebrated, and I am sitting or lying about 20,000 kilometers away on my yoga mat in the shade next to my tent, contemplating whether I should go swimming. The sun has been shining for 4 days in a row now! I have to admit, I've been listening to carnival music all day, somehow I really miss carnival and everything that goes with it! Non-Rhinelanders who may be reading my blog may not be able to fully understand this. But thanks to my friends, I am well supplied with pictures and voice messages.
Yesterday I spent the day planning, shopping, and doing laundry. Tomorrow morning, I will take the bus to Greymouth and then travel along the coast, including the Wildcoast Wilderness Trail, to Franz Josef, which is about 350 kilometers. I have realized that plans can change very quickly in New Zealand, so for now, I am not planning much more. Let's see where my bike takes me.
