The night was adventurous and unusual. There were sounds and rustling everywhere, and we both couldn't fall asleep for a long time. The guide brought a mattress from Simon and slept on the floor, but then also came up to the treehouse around 2 am. Since we were still sweaty from the hike and the high humidity, we got very cold at night. Simon got up to get blankets for both of us. Immediately, there was a noise on the roof of the treehouse - some animal got scared when Simon got up, but we're not sure what exactly (it could have been a monkey that jumped away). Around 4 am, I slowly had to go to the toilet, but I didn't want to go because it was still pitch dark! Luckily, I managed to hold on until 6 am when it got light and Simon was awake to accompany me again. In addition, Simon brought me cookies from Switzerland and they were open and nibbled on the next day - probably by rats.. So I had to throw them away😕
After packing up, we walked to the Canopy Walk - a hanging bridge that runs over the forest. We took many beautiful photos as the view was breathtaking! However, we both look a bit tired because it was around 6:30 am🙈 The bridge was in need of renovation, but luckily it held us.
The journey back to Cape Coast went smoothly, and there we had a delicious breakfast with fruits, toast with eggs, and pancakes! Otherwise, we couldn't do much because a storm was brewing. Did you know that there are guinea pigs in Ghana? Take a look at the one picture on the beach😅🙈
Now we're sitting at dinner and enjoying the atmosphere on the beach!😍
Thoughts on the treehouse. Regret: no; do it again: not in the immediate vicinity😅🙈🙈
