Day 6 starts at 6 am with the departure from Kalbbari.
Today will be rather unspectacular as we will spend 10 hours on the road.
After 4 1/2 hours, we made a stop at a pretty large plantation.
Here, besides bananas and oranges, they also grew melons, mangoes and apples which were processed into jam, ice cream, drinks, and even creams and oils.
After the short break, we hit the road again where, to our misfortune, the air conditioning failed once again.
Outside temperature 38.8 degrees... and the ice pack is back. Our misfortune grew even more when we drove through a giant cloud of smoke - bushfire?
No, it wasn't...
When we stopped briefly to cool down the air conditioning with ice so that it would work again, we were told that they no longer have ice. A few hours ago, an ice factory in the vicinity burned down...
That explains the smoke cloud! But we don't have any ice to regulate the air conditioning. So we're spending another 2 hours in the heat without air conditioning.
By now, it's 6:15 pm and we finally arrived. The air conditioning is working again.
In Kalbbari, it's finally green again and not just desert. Now we're going to cook and then take a short walk by the sea, and that's it for today.
