Ipapashiwe: 24.07.2022
The first trip of the sabbatical year should take us back to western Canada - especially the grizzlies in Knight Inlet are rarely available during the normal Hessian holidays...
On 24.08.2022 we want to fly to Vancouver. We will soon hop over to Vancouver Island and work our way up from the south. From here, we will also take a 4-day detour to Knight Inlet (a fjord in the coastal mountains on the mainland side).
Now a 16-hour ferry ride from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert will take us, and from there we will drive north to Dawson in the Yukon Territory. We are looking forward to some sonorous names: Campbell Highway, Taylor Highway, Dempster Highway, and especially the Top of the World Highway.
After that, we will head south again, a little further east, until we finally want to explore the densely scattered national parks of the Rocky Mountains from Jasper and Lake Louise.
On 03.10.2022, the plane is supposed to drop us off again in Frankfurt.
