Hiking in Wanaka

Ipapashiwe: 16.03.2017

Hello dear ones,

We are currently in Queenstown and have Internet again to write a new post :)

After all the rain, we have had three days of pure sunshine and have therefore done and seen a lot.

On March 12th, after spending the night at the waterfall, we set off towards Wanaka. On the way, we visited another waterfall and incredibly blue/turquoise bluepools.

On March 13th, we visited two glaciers, the Franz Josef Glacier and the Fox Glacier. Both are very impressive, but unfortunately they have melted quite a bit over the last 100 years.

Yesterday, after having to take our rattling car to the workshop because the trunk door wouldn't open anymore, we treated ourselves to a big breakfast in Wanaka. After that, we decided to go for a hike around Lake Wanaka, which was beautiful and definitely one of our highlights so far!!! Super blue water and really impressive nature all around, including free-roaming sheep :) Of course, we couldn't resist going for a swim there as well.

In the evening, we made our way towards Queenstown and were able to sleep at another free campsite. Tomorrow is the day, we will be skydiving....

Until the next entry, where we will tell you about our experiences in Queenstown.
