Departure

It was time to have breakfast one last time and then at ten o'clock we took the transfer to the airport.

Some fellow travelers said the last night was the worst in terms of sea conditions, but we didn't notice anything and slept.

It was, of course, departure day and I found there was great chaos in the ship and restaurant.

Once we arrived at the airport, everything went very quickly with the luggage. Everyone got through security without any problems, except that I didn't even get that far because the gate was acting up and of course didn't accept my boarding pass. After a quick check by a member of staff, I was able to get through.

The flight this time was really very pleasant and absolutely quiet. Our suitcases arrived almost as quickly as we did and so we were able to head home at half past six, thank God with all the cars starting straight away. A quick stop at McDonald's and we were all home by 11 p.m.

They were a few really nice days, even though I was always thinking about the sea getting a little rougher. Health-wise, it was a rollercoaster ride, too, as the long winter left its mark on everyone.
