After a 10-hour bus and ferry ride, we arrived on the small island of Ko Tao in the afternoon. After fending off the persistent Asians at the harbor, we went straight to our hostel. A large dormitory with 20 beds, but enough privacy for everyone.
On the first day, we rented scooters and drove to Joyvita and Lana on a beautiful rocky beach in the Gulf of Thailand. Since we have only seen one sunset in Australia, they seemed even more magnificent to us. After a hearty dinner followed by a visit to the bar, we eagerly returned to the hostel and went to bed.
We spent February 6th from 8 in the morning until 6 in the evening on a boat tour around Ko Tao. We stopped at 5 different spots and went snorkeling. We discovered a thousand colorful fish, turtles, and even a shark at the coral reef. We had lunch on the boat around noon and took a nap in the scorching sun. Today, we went to eat at our cheap, but delicious 'regular' restaurant on the main street again.
Over the next two days, we explored the island on scooters, enjoyed the beautiful nature, and climbed to the southernmost point of the island. On the last day, we took the ferry back to the neighboring island of Koh Phangan, which is located 45 km south of Ko Tao.
