The first week after we arrived remains very relaxed and we have time to explore the area. We also take the opportunity to meet and exchange with volunteers from Bozen, Pergine, and Saronno. Everyone has a lot to report and share their experiences.
During a walk through the center of Trento, we notice several pianos standing in the middle of the streets. These are public and can be used by anyone (of course, after thorough hand disinfection). We are immediately excited and play for a while. We are totally thrilled and looking forward to the next trip to the city. In a sweet side street, we discover a small pizzeria and spontaneously decide to have our first pizza.
In addition to the trips, we meet with our tutor to clarify all organizational matters and get to know all the organization's buildings. Due to Corona, we are not allowed to work with the children for the first two weeks.
Instead, we are already preparing a lot of crafts for the next week. In the cultural center of Trento is 'Pe.Pe.', a bike workshop and bookbinding workshop. There, we are shown how to make ring binders. Currently, we are preparing a project in which we design dice that will be creatively designed with the children.
Since we are only in the workshop in the afternoon, we have time in the morning to further explore the area. This time we move away from the center and prefer to explore nature. Since there are many parks here in Trento, including near our apartment, this is not difficult. We take walks between turquoise rivers, impressive mountains, the radiant sun, and autumn trees. When we discover the piano in a park this time, we are simply thrilled. The different areas in Trento are very impressive and we are now enjoying this wonderful time!
