Kia Ora South Island - our next adventure

Ipapashiwe: 25.12.2023

We drove to the Bluebridge ferry terminal at the crack of dawn after an already turbulent night in the harbor. Benny got us breakfast on board and we spent the trip painting and playing. There was a Christmas tree and E was happy. The sea was kind and it wasn't rough, it just swayed ever so slightly, but that was enough for me. The entry into the South Island through the Queen Victoria Sounds was beautiful to see.

Now our South Island adventure can begin.

The drive to Nelson through the Marlborough region, New Zealand's largest wine-growing region, and through the mountain range was very winding, but E was asleep the moment we entered the car and luckily didn't notice anything.

The holiday park is huge and the facilities where we are are very new, the rest are a bit old. I noticed that many New Zealanders spend the Christmas season here, and camping here is more like glamping, with the huge tents they set up here - wow.

E was happy in a swing. Today the weather was still hot and sunny. Let's see what the next few days bring, lots of rain like I googled :( After dinner we walked a bit on the beach and then fell asleep with our Christmas lights on.
