The journey from Deitingen to Modane via Geneva and Chambéry goes smoothly and takes just under five and a half hours. We can start the ascent at around 1:30 p.m.

Our (short) route today:

Modane-Fourneaux (1048 m) - Les Tavernes (1622 m) - Les Herbiers (1643 m) - La Loza (2099 m)

We didn't manage to do more because we were exhausted, but it was actually our goal for the day; we really didn't have the energy for more. (It should be added that Lis still had signs of COVID on Sunday, but this morning she didn't feel anything anymore...)

We are in the sleeping bag early. During the day, it is warm up to about 28 degrees. Now, after the sun has disappeared behind the mountains, it is simply uncomfortably cold outside. It is cozy and warm in the sleeping bag.

Tomorrow Tuesday, we will descend to the refuges in Les Granges via the Col de la Vallée Étroite, and then climb back up to the Col des Thures and possibly continue.
