Today's route:
Val Fourane (2000 m) - Lac de Lauzanier (2284 m) - Pas de la Cavale (2671 m) - Salse Morene (2094 m) - Col des Fourches (2261 m) - Bousiéyas (1861 m) - Le Lauzarouotte (2123 m)
Today's route also partially leads through an area with military fortifications here and there; apparently, the Ubaye region was a center of defense in the mountains against attacks from Italy (and therefore certain perhaps strategic areas were newly added to France after the war).
Since we almost always sleep outside and usually camp in the wild, we can no longer report on the groove in mountain huts and gîtes, as was possible last year. Instead, we constantly encounter the wild boys on the way, who are also only camping in the wild with a heavy backpack and are very fast (up to 35 km per day). They are mostly boys and girls from France, Wallonia, a few from Germany and Switzerland. We see them rushing by, exchange a few words (especially about destination, weather and equipment). That's all for the exchange. Often, the wild boys camp in the same place in the evening, but hike individually. We prefer to avoid these places; we prefer to set up the tent somewhere alone.
We meet or see few grottoes like us, in addition to the Swiss couple from Spiez, whom we do not meet today, and in the evenings they all sleep well supplied in huts.
