Manly Beach, Sydney Harbour NP

Upon arriving in Sydney or Manly, we were immediately overwhelmed by the traffic. Our eyes really have to be everywhere and we also have to be careful not to drive on a toll road. In Australia, there are toll roads in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. When you drive on a toll road, your license plate is automatically scanned and you have three days to pay the toll online. If you forget or don't notice, the toll or the 'fine' that is incurred will keep increasing and you will have to pay it upon departure. In Manly, we visited the incredibly beautiful beach and took a walk in the Sydney Harbour National Park. The park is not that breathtaking, you can look down at the cliffs but there isn't much else to see there. Then we went into the city or rather to our caravan park to set up our 'camp' for the next few days. We agreed that we only want to use public transportation to get to the city. Not only is this solution much cheaper, it is also stress-free. A parking spot in Sydney can cost up to $15 per hour...and then there are toll fees etc...we can really do without that. We got an 'Opal Card' at the train station, which allows us to travel cheaply by train, bus, and ferry in and around Sydney.
