'welcome back'

Hello, today we're talking about my first day back to school after lockdown and homeschooling. Yes! In Real Life.

Today, on 15.03.21, I finally had in-person classes again after over two months.

Two weeks ago, it started with the graduation class (6th year) and they were the only ones back. Luckily, everything went well and the numbers even went down further. So now it continued with the 5th year. In two weeks we will have Easter holidays and if everything stays well until then, all classes will come back after the holidays and normal school life will continue.

How is school now?

For the next two weeks, until the holidays, a few things are different compared to before Christmas.

For homeschooling, we had a schedule with 60-minute classes. This schedule has now been slightly adjusted. Now we have 6 classes of 60 minutes each every day. Very unusual, but it's still okay.

And our classrooms have changed.

How did it feel to be back?

At the beginning, it felt quite strange to be back. And it was so empty... I don't know why, but somehow I was unmotivated at first. Nobody really knew where we had to go or how things were going to work. I felt that in the first few hours there was also a certain distance between us exchange students and the Irish students. But thanks to the new classrooms, there was also a new seating arrangement. And so I actually got in contact with an Irish girl. I actually already knew her, but I hadn't had much contact with her before. But today we got along really well :D

In the end, I left school today with a smile on my face and got into the car in a good mood to go home.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm really glad to be back in school. After over 3 months at home, it's really nice to see something different and talk to other people.

But I have to say one thing. I'm really not used to getting up so early anymore and then sitting in school all day 😅 I was wrecked!

I also planned to write a post about St. Patrick's Day (17.03), but thanks to the virus, it wasn't really anything special...
