So now we are in Mexico. The country that so many people have raved about. Hmmm, somehow we just don't feel the vibe.
Cancun can be easily described in two words: expensive and touristy . We really want to go to the sea and drive to Playa Delfines. Wow, it's true - we've never seen water this blue. But also never so many people on a beach. We want to find a quieter and shady spot and walk along the beach. There is one luxury hotel next to the other. This not only ruins the landscape, but also our plans to go to the museum. We simply can't find a path that leads "outside" (away from the beach). That can't be true. After we've already walked at least 3 km, we ask a security guy who tells us that we have to walk at least another 20 minutes in both directions until we can find a gap between two hotels. Are you serious?😅 So we decide to pretend to be hotel guests and take the path through a hotel. However, this turns out to be more difficult than we thought, as the hotel feels bigger than the whole of Roßwälden (the village where Lissi comes from). Of course we get caught and the security personally escorts us out (to the side of the beach we came from, of course😅). Nothing helps... we have to walk a few more kilometers. When we finally manage it, we end up on a street with completely!!! priceless restaurants. So we go to a supermarket and stock up on drinks. Somewhere between the restaurants we find a small gap and enjoy the sunset 🤗.
We want to spend Easter Sunday on the island of mujeres. So we drive to the harbor and get on a boat with lots of other people who had the same idea. The boat has now become our favorite means of transportation 😍 and we are even entertained with great live music on it. Once we get there, we rent a bike and explore the island. It's pretty exhausting at over 30 °C. But it's worth it! Later, when we go swimming and then walk back to our things, we are approached by two women who ask if we can take a few pictures of their tour group. Scholle replies that Lissi could definitely do that... (Lissi still hates her for that today). At the same moment, Asma has to throw up and pukes in the sand right next to one of the women. But since she buries it quickly, no one notices. Shit, maybe that was too much sun and too much sea water in her stomach!? Lissi and Scholle set off to take a little group photo (they think). Even from a distance they can see that the tour group consists of at least 100 people.... ohhhhh wow 🤣🤣🤣🤣
