From Townsville, we continued to Bowen for one night. On the way there, we took a short detour to Horseshoe Beach Bowen and visited the Lookout Point Flagstaff Hill to spot whales. Unfortunately, without success....
The next day, we continued. Arriving in Airlie Beach, we were looking for a campground. The one we had chosen was unfortunately full. Fortunately, the next one was available. After resting by the pool that day, we went on a sailing trip with the Derwent Hunter the next day. An incredibly amazing experience. At first, we were unsure because Anna had to help out with sailing as well. It was challenging and a lot of fun all day, and we learned a lot about sailing. We even got to steer the Derwent Hunter for a brief time with a captain's hat on and sail leisurely through the waters of the Whitsunday Islands. We also had time for two snorkeling stops. Unfortunately, the water was too cold for Anna. So, the captain provided a bucket with a cup, and Anna was able to keep herself busy, allowing us to take turns snorkeling.
Anna was once again the highlight for all the guests and the crew on board.
It was super nice and exhausting to hoist the sails, an experience that we don't want to miss anymore. 💙💙💙
