Day 28: Wednesday 29.08.2018 Loch Ness - Aberlour

Ipapashiwe: 31.08.2018

This morning we were woken up by the sun and a bus tour. A bus stopped right at our overnight spot to allow passengers to take photos of Loch Ness. After about 10 minutes of playing musical chairs around the VW bus and practically leaning on the bus, we got up and drove to the Loch Ness Center in town. However, it was not open yet, so we had a coffee and then explored the exhibition. There, all the myths and secrets of the lake are illuminated. Of course also Nessie ("the Loch Ness Monster"). After that, we drove to Inverness, a main town in the Highlands. It is particularly dry there and probably why the city has often been chosen as the happiest place in Scotland. After a stroll through the city center, we continued on the Single Malt Trail. There are dozens of whiskey distilleries in the Speyside region. Today we visited a small inactive distillery, where you could admire the old machinery and equipment. Tomorrow we will visit the famous distilleries of Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, and Johnny Walker.
