If the food is already so expensive, then at least sightseeing should cost nothing ๐
We start the day after a $60 breakfast at the hotel with Subway line 1 towards Staten Island Ferry.
The ferry costs nothing and runs every half hour between Manhattan and Staten Island after rush hour (I skipped the only New York outlet there ๐คฃ). By 10:30 AM, 90% of the people are tourists who are all standing on one side ๐๐๐

In one hour, we went back and forth and had a great view of the Statue of Liberty as well as the Manhattan skyline ๐ช๐ป.
Next, we went to Little Island on the Hudson River. An impressive park with a stage on concrete stilts in the shape of tulips. https://littleisland.org/
Great tip from Andreas N. Thanks again ๐
You have a fantastic view of the downtown skyline from the highest point, just from the other side.
Walked a bit on the Highwalk, unfortunately closed from 16th Street, but still worth a visit! https://www.thehighline.org/visit/
Before lunch, we stopped by the Flatiron Building, which is unfortunately wrapped up for renovation, bummer!
Marten discovered a shop for minerals/fossils on 5th Avenue. Totally awesome ๐คฉ๐๐ป
The manager took a lot of time for Marten's questions and the exhibits were gigantic!
We ended this day in style with 3 slices of NY pizza ๐ฝ๐ชจ๐ณ๐๐๐
