about us and our dream

We, Britta and Ingo, both 47 years old and passionate campervanners since 14 years 🚐💨.

When we bought our first motorhome in 2004, we were complete beginners. Ingo had already sniffed a bit of camping air in his childhood, but I had no idea if this type of vacation was even an option for me. Camping once in constant rain had been enough for me. 🙃

But, open to anything, we spontaneously bought a 10-year-old "Safariways Barcellona". The thing had 5 previous owners and some accident damage (which we only noticed later), was definitely leaky and completely overloaded - but we knew nothing and in the end we drove it for 2.5 years and discovered our love for motorhome travel - and at the same time for Croatia as a fantastic holiday destination. 

Now 14 years have passed, we bought our 5th motorhome last year, a Niesmann + Bischoff Flair, our absolute dream mobile!

Our daughter is grown up now and no longer travels with us, but we are accompanied by two furry companions: Gynnie, a sacred Birman, and Maxi, a Maine-Coon-Persian mix. I will tell you more about these two traveling cats another time. 

Our big dream is to be "on the road" for most of the year. Later, when we no longer work. Realistically, that will only happen in 18 years at the earliest, when retirement calls (unless the retirement age is raised by then 🙄). But maybe we'll win the lottery before then? 

Until then, we unfortunately have to be content with 6 weeks of annual leave. That's why this blog is titled as it is. But our plans for 2018 are different 😉. But more on that when everything is "official".
