In the middle

Thursday, December 16, 2021 - While I'm waiting for the sun, I want to tell you something about our everyday life again. Yesterday I took the bus with Sandra to the Artesania markets to do some shopping. The bus ride itself was an experience. I wore two masks, but there was enough draft through the open windows and doors. I would love to send you the original sound, but uploading movies to the blog doesn't work. It's so loud with the rattling bus, the bad roads, the honking, constant music... How do people endure this on a daily basis? At one intersection, we could even watch acrobats right on the street during the red light phase. That's how they earn their money. Shopping and haggling - without men - was a lot of fun. We were on the road for six hours in total, so I was really glad to get 'home' again.

In contrast, Martin has a lot to do. Besides his appointments - today a meeting with the Peruvian Lutheran Church - he has to prepare and hold six church services between the 4th Advent and January 3rd. Hopefully, things will calm down afterwards. Actually, he only has a half-time position...

I just got back from my morning walk. By now, I know almost every dog in the area. There are mainly pugs, poodles, and terriers. That's all for today.
