The last days before departure were quite eventful.
Working, meetings, preparing, spending time with loved ones, getting insurance, getting apartments in order, baking cakes, and then at 2:30 pm it was time to pick up our motorhome.
Beforehand, we had already thought about what to name it. When we saw it, it was clear.
This year, we will have some adventures with PEPPER.
The handover went quite smoothly and then we quickly drove home to load everything up.
With diligent support, we even managed to leave 7 minutes before the planned time. Thanks again at this point.
We headed south without any major traffic jams and made good progress. A small parking lot behind Salzburg would suffice for a few hours of sleep.
Early Saturday morning, just before 6 o'clock, we got back on the Austrian highway.
A controlled passing point before the Tauern toll station. No reason to be in a bad mood.
Glorious mountain panorama and wildflowers at the roadside kept the mood high.
We arrived at our first destination a bit later than planned.
For the next one, we thought it would be impossible to find a parking space. But luck was on our side. Just as a van was leaving, we took the spot immediately. Right by the lake with an incredibly amazing view. Hard to put into words.
So the traffic jam and the overnight drive paid off.
Into the water before it was time to set up camping chairs, turn on the gas stove, and have lunch.
The lake was quite cold.
The little tour on the SUP in the afternoon was beautiful.
The lake is really great for water sports. There were even windsurfers out there.
With this panorama, it's easy to relax.
There are beautiful hiking trails here, and a lot can also be explored by bike.
We only took a short walk and went to bed early.
Having the lake to yourself early in the morning is really beautiful. It lies almost mirror-smooth, surrounded by the high mountains and the slowly rising sun.
A delicious muesli bowl before 7 o'clock, with this view, definitely has something to it.
And the feeling of swimming alone in silence is indescribably beautiful.
We packed everything together and, thanks to the neighboring campers who had some good tips for us, headed towards Slovenia.
The Predil Pass winds its way up from Italy, over the former border crossing, and PEPPER continues towards Bovec.
Here we are now, at Kamp Toni, a kayaking paradise right on the Soca River.
There are no designated parking spots here. You just drive onto the site, look for an available patch of grass, and park there. Tents, caravans, vans, motorhomes - you can find everything here.
Very relaxed and clean.
The sun is shining, the view is breathtaking, PEPPER feels comfortable, and we will take the bicycles and explore the charming village of Bovec and its surroundings.
