We actually wanted to spend a relaxing day at the hotel pool today, but firstly things turn out differently and secondly than you think.
After yesterday's trip was quite strenuous, we didn't get out of bed until around 10 a.m. today. The breakfast bar in the hotel closes at 10:30 a.m. and we didn't want to stress ourselves out.
There are plenty of restaurants in the area so we set off. In Ram Buttri Aly, a 10-minute walk away, a small street that we didn't know before, we soon noticed the “Sawasdee Terrace Cafe and Galery” and had a delicious breakfast there.
Since we really liked the alley, we decided to walk a little further along the alley. The alley is home to numerous restaurants, street food stands and of course lots of tourist clothing and souvenir shops.
We then realized that we were not far from the Chao Phraya, the second largest river in Thailand, and so we went through a small park, the “Santi Chai Prakan Park” to the pier there.
The terrace of the “Coco Chaophraya Cafe” restaurant, which is located directly on the river, invited us to stay and refresh ourselves for a while while watching the hustle and bustle on and around the river.
Since we really liked the ambience of the restaurant and the location on the river, we decided to have the last supper in Bangkok there, despite the slightly more exquisite prices.
Said and done. After a break in the hotel room, we went back to the pier restaurant in the evening and had a really delicious dinner there at sunset.
We walked home along Thanon Ram Buttri, which runs parallel to Khaosan Road, but is nowhere near as loud as the party mile. Here, too, there are plenty of shops and restaurants that invite you to stay.
Unfortunately not for us anymore, packing was on the agenda. Tomorrow morning we go to the airport and continue our journey to Phuket, from where we will of course get back to you.
Bangkok was an experience for us and we will definitely plan a few days in the capital again on our next trip to Thailand.
