Hello,
We are writing on the 41st today, we are going back to Da Nang, more precisely to Da Nang Airport and then continue with the destination Can Tho in the Mekong Delta. On site, after a short walk, we find our small hotel hidden in a backyard. Access to it takes us past the everyday life of the local residents and their living and bedrooms, to which we have a good view as almost all of them are open.
It's interesting to get an insight at least we can see the most important element in their apartment, the television.
For the next day, we chartered a boat. The main goal was to visit the floating markets on the Mekong, unfortunately they were closed every day as they were celebrating Tet in the evening, the Chinese New Year. But the tour was still very interesting, especially when we went further into the smaller side arms. A visit to a snake farm was also on the program, as well as a stroll through a beautiful landscape along the canals.
At lunchtime we made a stop at a small restaurant, a place of heavenly peace where we satisfied our hunger and then enjoyed a coconut in the hammock.
In the evening it was Tet, we celebrated New Year's Eve once again with an impressive fireworks display. When we arrived at our hotel afterwards, the good spirits were just being let into the house with a shrine at the entrance, we had to sit down and slurp sweet red bean soup and nibble on other sweet dishes according to tradition.
The next day we took the bus to Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon.
See you soon
