Actually, we booked a boat trip for 08:45 am during our vacation 🙄. But we can tell you, it was really worth it and the tip from our landlord was great. It starts from Rijeka, just the two of us and the boat guide... wonderful.
Except for us, various birds and some anglers, no one else is on Skadar Lake yet. The silence is wonderful, various birds flutter and glide over the mirror-smooth water surface. We encounter herons sitting motionless on iron poles, enjoying the first rays of sunshine.
The nature here is unique and diverse, almost a little bit like the Amazon.
When the boat guide suddenly stops and asks us "do you want to swim" we think for a moment and take the opportunity to jump into the still quite cold Skadar Lake... brr... refreshing in the crystal clear water.
A little later we head to Cetinje, but that wasn't such a good choice on a national holiday. The streets are bustling with people with Montenegrin flags and the bars and restaurants are crowded and playing loud music. Therefore, we make our way to the Njegos Mausoleum and wind our way up a magnificent serpentine road to 1749 m.
Now quickly up about 150 steps and then a fantastic view of Montenegro awaits us.
Now we're heading back to Rijeka and to our favorite place of relaxation with a delicious meal and a chilled glass of red wine, ending the 3rd day.
