The Thursday after that Molly, Kevin and Gerry went to the Outerbanks in North Carolina and I had some time for myself. I visited Washington DC again, where I saw the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, the Capitol (again), the Department of Treasury, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the Franklin Delano Rosevelt Memorial. I made Schnitzel with fried potatoes and enjoyed having the house to myself and being able to sleep in without a baby crying. I really liked having that time for myself. It's not that I don't like living with my host family, but I was just used to doing my own stuff and I enjoyed cooking for myself again, going grocery shopping for myself, and all these silly routines. We started on Thursday and went to Pittsburgh, spent the day there, and drove to Cleveland in the evening where we watched the sunset at Lake Erie and stayed in a nice Airbnb. On Friday, we went to Cedar Point, an amusement park on Lake Erie in Sandusky. It is my absolute favorite amusement park. First of all, they have the best coaster I've seen so far, and I've seen a lot. Steel Vengeance is a hybrid coaster. It's awesome. I recommend that every roller coaster fan goes to Cedar Point. It's like no other place. Also, many of the coasters there were quite new, which is nice because they are smoother and have the newest safety standards. On Saturday, we made a quick visit to Cleveland before heading home to watch the Washington Capitals game on the streets in front of the arena, which was impressive. I really enjoyed traveling with her. She's the only one I've met so far who needs less time than I do to get ready in the morning or evening. And she just likes to travel the same way I do.
