Mi 1.9. Bjørnvika Hike

Very windy, mostly sunny

Today, we are still staying in our beautiful cabin in Björnvika and going on a three-hour hike around the peninsula in the morning. The excursion to the unique geological island of Leka is canceled. First, it is too windy for cycling, second, the Stone Center with important information is already closed, and third, the necessary four ferry connections can only be managed with haste. So we stay "at home" and go on an adventurous and very varied tour over fields, large rocks, stony beach, marshy heathland, and through the forest. The path is not easy to find.

In the afternoon, Gerd rides 3 km by bike to go shopping and Gondula goes up to a 100m high viewpoint with fantastic panoramic views, in great evening light and clear visibility. Wild cranberries are collected on both routes.

The evening menu consists of *Appetizer: Norwegian mountain cheese with wild cranberry sauce.

*Main Course: Freshly caught halibut steak with vegetable rice and tomato confit a la Gerd.

*Dessert: Trio a la Gondula - Vanilla yogurt and Lettrømme on a bed of wild cranberries with cinnamon, cooked in maple syrup.
