Vejer de la Frontera & Seville

ተሓቲሙ: 15.05.2019

From El Palmar we then drove inland via Vejer de la Frontera, one of the so-called 'white villages'. The village is situated on a hill, which you have to walk up. It was a very beautiful and quaint little town, with narrow streets, of course all houses whitewashed and everywhere you could see the amazing oriental tiles. We had a great view over the whole area. After we had completely visited the village, we continued on to Sevilla. The closer we got, the warmer it became.... until then we had only had about 20 degrees during the day, here it was already 27.... We found a camper stop near Sevilla again through the Park4night app, which we now highly desired. It was a port where the harbor master presumably earned a few € by allowing campers to park at the harbor.... But there was electricity and showers & toilets, what more could you want! The bus to Sevilla stopped right in front of the harbor, so we went to the city in the evening. Already at the bus stop, we somehow wondered why so many women were walking around in flamenco dresses.... and at every stop more and more joined.... So quickly googled what was going on in the city. It was 'Feria de Abril', a folk festival roughly the size of Oktoberfest, and everyone goes there, similar to Munich, in traditional costumes... Ah, now we knew what was going on. It was practically a state of emergency in the city and on that day (last Wednesday), it was probably something like the main day, shops closed and everything and it was really busy. And in the middle of it all, once again completely without a plan 🙈 We followed the crowd to the fairground to see what was going on. But then we decided to walk to the old town instead, it wasn't really our thing... 😬 That evening, we got a first overview of the city and had a delicious meal. The next day, we took the bus back into the city. Since everything was open again that day, we were able to visit the enormous cathedral. We even got tickets right away, without waiting time! Things are slowly going our way 😜 The old town of Sevilla was also really beautiful, behind every corner there was a tower or a dome waiting, the facades of the houses are beautiful. There are very varied neighborhoods, everywhere you can find small bodegas & cafes & cute little streets. There was really a lot to see and we really liked the city. From now on, we'll let the pictures speak....
