On Monday we went surfing at Kuta Reef. The reef is about 2km from the beach and you can reach it with a small boat. I went with Sony, a friend who I did my surfing course with 2 years ago. We were outside first in the morning for 2 hours and then again in the afternoon for 2.5 hours. It was super sunny and the waves were very nice. On Tuesday we went surfing again at lunchtime.
On Wednesday morning I cruised around the island for a bit and passed countless rice fields. First we went towards Canggu, continued past Tanah Lot (famous temple) and then finally to Pantai Pasut (Pasut Beach), which is known for its kilometer-long black sand beach on which you can ride a scooter.
Afterwards we went back and went surfing again, but alone & there was no one there apart from me. In the evening the boys from the surf school invited us to a barbecue. On Thursday I had to take a break, I chilled out a bit, treated myself to a massage and went swimming.
On Friday morning I went surfing again, then went to the beach and then said goodbye to everyone. In the evening we went back to Melbourne. Because I was in Bali for the second time, I found my way around relatively quickly (traffic, orientation, culture). The food was of course really good, I checked out all the warungs (small restaurants run by locals) that I used to go to two years ago. Actually, almost every dish had rice and vegetables of some kind.
Saturday morning I landed back in Melbourne. First checked into the hotel, slept briefly and then went into town to visit a market and a few shops in Brunswick and the CBD. In the evening I picked up a friend at the airport. On Sunday we went back into the city, to the harbor and to South Yarra, a district with many cafes, bars and shops. In the evening we went through Chinatown for a bit.
