At 08:15 am, the alarm clock wakes us up today. But it's not so bad, because it's sunny and we have a lot to do. After breakfast, we pack our things and head to the nearby bus stop. Bus number 625 stops after a gesture and takes us to Auckland (Newmarket). From there, we walk to the Broadway Boulevard towards the foot of Mount Eden (196 m above sea level). There, we start our ascent. After about 20 minutes, we reach the highest point and get a great view of all of Auckland. This makes paid views from the Sky Tower unnecessary.
After taking numerous photos, we hit the road again and march to the center of Auckland (thanks to the public library, we have good Wi-Fi for our blog).
We continue and look for something to eat because the walks make us hungry - here come the burritos :-)
Finally, we want to go to the harbor and to the Maritime Museum of New Zealand. There, we first meet naval ships from all over Oceania. Then, we visit the museum, where the history and the legendary New Zealand racing yacht from the 1995 America's Cup are displayed. The team led by skipper Peter Blake was the first to snatch the oldest sports trophy in the world(!) away from American rule after over 100 years.
It's slowly getting evening and we take the bus to the campsite where we still have to prepare our dinner (Spaghetti Carbonara Plus). A wander-filled day comes to an end ;-)
