Arriving in China

So, now it's finally time, our China adventure has begun. We started from Munich and were very glad that we were on time. It turned out that our luggage was way too heavy, so we had to buy an extra suitcase at the airport and repack there. But everything worked out and all 12 pieces of luggage even arrived 😊 After a brief inquiry from customs about what we had with us, and a brief moment of panic on our part, we were able to continue. The driver who was waiting for us was visibly surprised by so much luggage. He called a colleague who then brought another car. So I went to the hotel with the children and Gregor waited. When we arrived here, we had to sort out the suitcase chaos first, but that went surprisingly well too. We were very warmly welcomed here, many hotel staff seem to know us and are very friendly. In general, people here are very fond of children and approach strangers openly. The hotel room is ok, just a bit cramped for four. Today is a Chinese holiday to honor the (dead) ancestors, so we have the day off. We went to the park this morning, and later we will play in the kids' club and go swimming. Tomorrow we will start looking for an apartment, we are very excited 😁
