Tag 151-Transport costs

Tonight Sarah and I said goodbye to another colleague from the project. She is flying from Managua to the USA tonight at 2:00 AM, which means she has to be at the airport by 12:00 AM at the latest. Since there are no buses running so late, other means of transportation are needed. A taxi costs around $40. However, all tour operators to the tourist attractions also offer an airport service where you can experience the most interesting things. I am already on my way to find out the prices. Some advertise with fabulous $15, but after further inquiry it becomes clear that this can only be realized if you travel at a very specific time, find at least one more person, and it’s a full moon. Otherwise, it costs $40. Or, if you ask again tomorrow and someone else is sitting behind the desk, it costs $45 or maybe only $30. Above-mentioned colleague found a provider who spontaneously offered her the airport transfer for $25, no matter how many people. That sounds suspicious. This provider is located in a 2-square-meter - admittedly - exquisite chamber. When I also inquired there today, it was supposed to cost $35. With my knowledge of the $25 bargain, I was able to irritate the snobby young man. He informed me that he had to clarify it, turned to his cell, turned back again: all clear, $25 is fine.

The colleague was nervous all evening whether everything was right. It seems to have worked out, she didn't contact me anymore. Sometimes I think they just can't do math. Or don't know that the number 25 is smaller than the number 40. No kidding. Tomorrow I'll book MY $25 bargain.
