Day 2-7 Find a car & some sightseeing

For our trip we need a 4WD. So far, so good. But prices are skyrocketing and we have no idea what we really need for our travels through Australia, especially our first stop Cape York: snorkel? bull bar? UHF-Radio? roof rack? etc.

After 6 days looking at kind of all available used cars, we decided on a grey Toyota Landcruiser Prado.

While the Toyota got its last checks & cleaning, we split time in buying the 'rest' for our trip: cooker, cutlery, food, bags, sanitary stuff and not to forget our coffee maker! As we have to work remotely a couple of hours weekly also the discovery of a portable lap desk came in handy.

The remaining time we did some sight seeing: Crystal Cascades just outside of Cairns were nice to cool off and swim. We also went to Rusty´s Market to get fresh veg & fruit (passionfruits :D ) & breakfast (lovely nutella donuts). Later also went for a stroll through Cairns city center and the promenade - no swimming as croc warning everywhere.
