Today it was sunny again, I was finally wide awake, and we could spend the whole day outside. We went to Asakusa to see the temple. The temple itself was quite beautiful, and you could watch the monks praying and, most importantly, listen. But actually, the surrounding area of the temple is the exciting thing about this place. Starting with the fortune sticks, which you can pull for 100 yen and then, according to the number on the stick, you can take a prophecy from a drawer - luckily, we both had luck! There were also beautiful koi fish and a lot of colorful things on the Nakamise Shopping Street, which leads directly to the temple. Among them countless kitschy souvenirs, food made of plastic, and also real food like melonpan (the name is misleading, there is not a single melon inside) - delicious! After that, we had to chillax by the Sumida River and admired the Asahi Beer Tower. It is supposed to resemble a beer with a great foam crown... Next to it, the Beer Hall is supposed to resemble, I have no idea what, but here it is called 'The Golden Poo' (sounds more elegant than the German translation) because of the golden 'flame' on top. Later we went to Ginza to stroll along the designer stores. The crowning finale was the meal at the Teishoku Restaurant. You place your order at the entrance at the vending machine and pay right away, and within a short time the server brings the menu. Eat. Done. You have to try it. Tomorrow we are going to Kawaguchiko!
