Shark feeding Saturday and jumping dolphins

Day 5:

'3 Sharks? That's 4800 teeth!' (Finding Nemo) - That's what I thought today when I stood in front of the tank, under which 3 lemon sharks were swimming. But hello first - another day on this wonderful island has passed and I made it a bit more active and visited the Sea Aquarium! And I would like to thank you very much for the nice comments and clicks on my posts! I'm glad that you are so interested in following my little journey 🐬

Do you know what I woke up to today? No? TO RAIN! Yes, that's right. It rained here in the Caribbean! But do you also know how long? Yes ... exactly, only 2 minutes and then the rain stopped. No Netflix&Chill in the Airbnb because of the rain - but that's even BETTER, because I want to explore the island and not laze around in bed 💪 So at half past ten, when the sun was back in full swing, I was ready to go and my destination was the Curacao Sea Aquarium. The reviews were mostly very good and I thought that the 39 NAF (about 20 €) would be a good investment. I took the bus, which I didn't have to wait for a single minute, to Punda and from there another 15 minutes by mini-bus to the aquarium. Since the aquarium is a typical tourist attraction that probably no local would ever visit, I expected a small crowd. Especially at lunchtime and on weekends - who knows? But once again, that was not the case. Three more people were standing next to me at the box office and when I was inside, it didn't look much different. I was pleasantly surprised! The information desk employee handed me a map of the facility, which also included the times of the dolphin shows and the fish feedings. Very practical. So I started my tour at the flamingos and a few aquariums with crabs and creatures (I already mentioned that sea creatures are suspicious to me and I'm a little scared of them). Then I came to the dolphin pool of the Dolphin Academy, where many people with disabilities also come every year to do dolphin therapy. The animals were completely focused on their coaches and seemed really happy (at least they didn't look tortured, I can't judge how an animal feels myself). That is usually not the case when you think of some water parks, that's why I am always a little skeptical about them and had to think twice about whether I really wanted to do it today. But I have no regrets! Then I went to the shark tank and at 1.30 pm the three greedy ones got their meal: raw fish pieces thrown into the tank in a high arc by a Dutch tanned Sea Aquarium employee 😎 Who wouldn't drool over that?

After a few hours and countless photos, I wanted to go to the beach and also jump into the water and swim like a fish or a crab or a dolphin, so I went straight around the corner to Mambo Beach, where I had already been a few days ago and grabbed a beach chair. Between swimming and sunbathing, I had a delicious pineapple juice and hummed along to the music that blasted into my ear with 93 dB, everything from Jennifer Lopez to Robbie Williams and Halsey. It was also nice to lie on a slightly busier beach where there is a bit of activity 😛

And now I'm back in the apartment, sitting on the terrace, listening to the crickets and drinking a cool Sprite. It's almost full moon! I think tomorrow is the day! Let's see what I'll do tomorrow, but I'm thinking of taking a tour to Westpunt or visiting the Hato Caves. Until then, I wish you a wonderful day on the other side of the world! Best regards! 🐳
