Theo and I have now left Seoul to continue our journey south. We both really enjoyed the past 14 days. Seoul is a wild mix of everything one can imagine in a 'city'. We stayed in hostels in 3 different neighborhoods and each time it felt like a completely different place. In Insadong, small one-story houses are closely lined up in traditional style, in Gangnam, you feel like a dwarf in a huge canyon among the polished glass facades of skyscrapers, and Hongdae feels a bit like a Ballermann party district made of cotton candy. In Seoul, there are cafes on every corner, plenty of cultural sites, and lots of affordable restaurants where you can find food from all over the world but especially Korean dishes.
A tip for anyone planning to visit during the summer: don't forget your umbrella! It helps against both monsoon rain and the scorching sun :-)
