Park of Waters - Water Plays in the Desert

Last night I visited the Park of Waters in the center of Lima. The park opens its doors at 6pm to impress visitors with large fountains, changing water jets, and colorful lights.

There are nearly 20 different fountains to admire, some of which constantly change their colors and jets. Once an hour, there is also a show where images are projected onto the water jets to the beat of music, and the largest fountain in the park performs a kind of dance with its water.

You can even enter some of the fountains and take photos amidst the water. As the jets often turn on and off unexpectedly, you might end up getting quite wet!

Since I love watching water as well as colorful lights, I would have liked to spend the whole night in the park to enjoy the spectacle.

The Park of Waters is definitely a tourist magnet and created with much effort. Nevertheless, it should never be forgotten that in other neighborhoods just a few kilometers away, there is often not even running water from the tap. This thought makes the beautiful Park of Waters in the middle of a desert city appear somewhat paradoxical.
