Interim report after 14 days

Нашр шудааст: 12.04.2023

So now it's been 14 days. We're fit, but we can't say if we've lost weight because we haven't come across a scale yet. Pepe is slowly getting thinner thighs, at least he claims that his jeans are getting tighter around the thighs. I think it's more due to the Spanish laundromats and my Spanish skills.
I'm so fit, I could ride on one leg, even while standing... (imagination).
The bikes are the ones suffering the most, with all the luggage and us on top, dust, sand, and bumps all the time. 600 km down and a few thousand more to go...
And we, we're diligently applying creams appropriate for our age. Butt cream, sunscreen, healing ointment, Penaten cream, after sun, and occasionally some shower gel.
The first impressions, the Euro Velo 8 is not yet present or signposted here, but hey, we're riding however we want. For now, the accommodations in hotels/hostels are cheaper than expected, and the food and shopping are comparable to German prices.
If we don't wash at least once a week, the guys with the shopping carts under the bridge or on the beach won't accept us. That would save some money.
The language situation is a bit tricky,
we're making an effort to say or ask something in Spanish, but we don't always understand the answer and in the end it's a mix of Spanish, English, and gestures. But we get what we need.
The landscape is beautiful, lots of things are blossoming, and so far it's hillier than expected. The larger tourist areas have the charm of the 70s and some not-so-nice high-rise buildings, but there are also smaller villages with character.
Pepe says I shouldn't comment that we got lost once, but I'm doing it anyway. He didn't want to come jogging with me...
We could write a lot more but now it's time to get on the bike.
