13th day from Torre del Mar to Almunecar

Our bikes were allowed to stay in the breakfast room overnight but had to be out by 07:00. That meant getting up earlier for us. We started at around 08:30, initially flat, then it went over steep coast. We can already see the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. In the flat part of the route, there were a lot of greenhouses with plastic roofs, not so beautiful, but they produce a lot of 'vegetarian' products that fill the shelves in our shops. In the steeper part, we noticed a lot of 'Hipis' [hippies], I think we missed something or something is developing. We have now arrived in the Grenada region. We will stay in the hotel in Almunecar for two nights. It serves as our base camp for visiting the Alhambra in Grenada, which we reach by public buses.

Today it was about 45 km and about 400 hm [altitude meters], we were already at the destination at 1:00 pm. Had a relaxed coffee and then checked into the hotel. In the afternoon we still had time to go to the sea, but it was still quite cold.

So far we have covered over 600 km and the weather gods have been kind to us. The technology has held up so far even though the bikes have been through a lot. We are encountering the first cyclists with luggage. We haven't seen any signs of Eurovelo 8 yet 🤔
