Sometimes it's funny when you return to where the journey really began last year!
We were back at 'Camping Casino' in Oye Plage, where we spent a few days last August and had a flat tire. This was our third time there, but the campsite is so popular with travelers that the owner naturally did not recognize us as returning guests, and we received the explanations for the third time. It certainly didn't hurt!
It's a funny area, here you can only see GB in the mist, this return trip we took the ferry to Dunkirk. It was a bit different from arriving in Calais, but no less fun. Driving on the right side of the road is still a bit of a challenge, especially on small roads with only one lane, but it was not a problem otherwise.
The rain caught us on the first evening, but otherwise we cannot complain, as the sunny hours increased immediately after. The temperatures in France were still within reason, probably due to the wind!
On the first day, we were able to take part in the local market, which was nice because we missed that in GB! I like fresh fruits and vegetables, even if they probably come from the wholesale market, as grapes and nectarines are not common in the north.
We enjoyed every day, it was fun with French, which we had not used for a good 6 weeks. Christian then returned the gas bottle right away, on the third day we explored the better bakery and so on.
It is beautiful here, unfortunately the Germans in World War II have left things here again that one can only be ashamed of. The election in France has shown me that one can decisively confront the right-wing, whether that was because of Mbappé, I cannot judge, but the result reassured me. Politically, it is far from over, but it is a signal!
There are many policemen on the beach here, I attribute that to Brexit and the refugee agreement. It was a bit strange when a policeman wanted to say hello to Nerone, but he only had the dog behind the balustrade in mind......
I was able to eat baguette and taramas again, which I actually shouldn't, but it was the last opportunity.
We were then drawn further to Belgium and the Netherlands, because it was time to meet prejudices with openness!
