Hello everyone,
today after waking up, we decided to take a little detour to Volterra after breakfast.
This time, we left the stroller behind 😉. Took a look around Volterra.
And paid another visit to the best ice cream parlor in the world. 😋
If you want to know what adventure really means, take a look at the license plate of this Jeep with a rooftop tent.
But now it's time to head to Siena! We were curious to see how we could find a parking space or a place to stay, as it was already mentioned on the web that Siena is not particularly camper-friendly. At the parking lot in Siena, which was supposed to cost 20€ for an old loading area for trucks in the middle of the sun and also made a very run-down impression, we decided (let's say from a gut feeling) that we didn't want to stay here. Just drive towards Centro. It's not really easy to find a parking space quickly with a 7.5-meter-long motorhome. But even that worked out for us just 2 km away from Centro. There was a parking lot where we could park for free until 7:00 p.m.
Let's go to Siena.
When you walk towards the old town of Siena from the Luna Park, you have to say that it is a very impressive sight.
Then the typical tour......let's go to the cathedral and then to Piazza del Campo. Everywhere you can see signs or pictures showing the famous horse race, where the spectators are in the middle of the Piazza, by the way about 45,000 people, and the race goes around the Piazza.
When we got back to our camper after a long day, I had to acknowledge with pride that my Lotte, despite some complaining at the beginning, had walked just over 10 km in the end.
After a short search, we found a beautiful campsite ⛺️ in the heart of the Chianti area, which is pleasantly shady in the forest.
There, after the children 👶 were in bed, we ended the day with a glass of wine 🍷.
See you tomorrow.........
