Hello everyone!
Today was the day we would change our accommodation for the last time. We are heading to Cancun.
In the morning, we enjoyed the view from our balcony, packed everything, and left around 11 o'clock.
On the way to Cancun, there was a cenote that we really wanted to see. But after about 40 minutes of driving, it started pouring rain. The streets were flooded, and we had to take breaks. We couldn't see anything from the car, and our windshield wipers were just for show. Along the way, we stopped several times to feed stray dogs (we bought food for them yesterday ☺️).
After feeding the second dog, I was soaked and decided to go to the cenote despite the bad weather. I really wanted to see it - and I was already wet ☺️.
Shortly after, we arrived at our destination and I jumped out of the car saying, "I'll be right back, just a few photos." Kevin wasn't particularly excited about visiting a cenote in the rain - understandable ☺️. So he waited in the car for a while.
I started walking and saw some locals at the ticket counter. They laughed at my completely drenched appearance. One of them spoke English and allowed me to go see the cenote. He accompanied me down into the hole and we chatted a bit. I was allowed to take photos and swim without paying an entry fee ☺️
He told me that this cenote is 26 meters deep and also has underground caves.
After a few laps, I returned to the exit and said goodbye to everyone (by now, the locals had also stormed the cenote and wanted to go swimming ☺️). They were very friendly and wished me a nice day.
Back in the car, we continued our journey to Cancun. Along the way, we stopped to feed dogs. Every time we were observed by locals, they smiled and nodded at us.
When we arrived at the hotel, it was already 5 p.m. and we were really hungry!
We checked in briefly, admired our room, and headed to the nearby shopping center. According to the receptionist, there was a "Food Court" with various snack stands. Since we hadn't had fast food in a long time, McDonald's won the race. We ordered something and quickly walked back to the accommodation ☺️
There, we sat in the bathtub and enjoyed the actually bad food 😁
Right after we got out of the bathtub and wanted to get ready, it started thundering heavily. We managed to take some great shots!
Then we went to a nearby bar for a drink, and now we're enjoying a cozy evening 😉
See you tomorrow! Bye bye!
