Arrived by ferry and quickly adapted to driving on the left, we went on our first camping trip and then further into the wilderness.
The people here are very helpful, just like the other road users who often wave and honk at us... probably because of the ZH license plate😜
Our route so far in the kingdom to the northernmost tip.
Scotland, the land of movies, or at least a few of them. There are adventurous natural wonders to discover here and we are following in the footsteps of Braveheart, Highlander, Harry Potter, and of course, Game of Thrones. Not to forget, the inspiration's castle for the movie Dracula.
As we were strolling through a town and Spastgal said I look old with my current beard😑, we stumbled upon a Turkish barber, right in the middle of Scotland. He freshened me up and made me look 10 years younger, and he packed his amazing life story into our backpack.
We also managed to go kitesurfing today at two spots. The wind didn't quite cooperate, but it was enough for fun... even if only on the beach.
The 1st spot was reachable through a 30-minute walk through the dunes
The 2nd spot is right next to the campsite, for a mere £22 per night. Very cheap for Scottish standards.
We will stay here for 2-3 days.
By the way, Spastgal almost managed to set the camper on fire. We were lucky and she threw the burning pan fast enough, luckily avoiding me, outside🤙 Great! The food was good😋
The fire devil👹
