The camper life

I would like to introduce our motorhome to you.

An Opel Vivaro, former service vehicle and now on the road as a camper. A second battery provides power for the refrigerator and the lights, so that the refrigerator can run all night, but our car can still start the next day without being jump-started.

This is the first time we're really on the road with it and we love the feeling of freedom that a mobile home can give you! Most of the time we sleep freely for 2 days and then visit a campsite to connect the car to electricity, as the battery does not get fully charged just by driving around. And it's also time for a shower 🚿! However, you can delay that if there's a lake 😉 There are lots of them and they're always so cold that they should be frozen (at least it feels that way)!!

The cool thing is, we're not bound to anything and can park our vehicle almost anywhere and sleep. Most of the time, these are clearings in the forest, abandoned parking lots, gravel areas, and "rest areas" with toilets. Strictly speaking, this is not allowed, but many people do it, including the locals.

When traveling, I once again become aware of the abundance in which we live! We have everything we need with us. Rarely have I appreciated a warm shower as much as today after 2 nights of free camping and the icy shower from the last campsite. The relaxation that sets in here, since we are forced to live offline and in nature, is unique. Nobody drives fast and nobody is stressed. Of course, maybe it's also because we're in the countryside, but right now I'm wondering what the attraction of a city should be. I'm already dreading all the crowds of people 😅
