Ah yes, there was this famous city - the gateway to the north. Praised in every tourist newspaper, a UNESCO World Heritage site and chosen as a worthwhile destination by cruise ships 🚢 - Bergen!
Ms. Berger didn't want to go to Bergen at first, but then she was convinced by a few Germans and me that there would still be something beautiful to see there! Besides, I think everyone named Berger should visit this city at least once, after all, I constantly have to hear why my last name is Benz and I don't drive a Mercedes!
So with great anticipation, we drove to the mentioned place. Yes, and of course those 17 wooden houses (Bryggen-UNESCO World Heritage site) were beautiful, but the spark didn't really jump over with us.
The fish market was interesting! However, for us non-sea people, it was somewhat strange to see all the crabs in the display still alive 😯. The huge king crabs were also offered, and fresh sushi was available firsthand 🍣.
Other than that, Bergen is a more or less normal city with beautiful old buildings, some of them colorful. However, we found it quite dirty and very touristy.
We were a little disappointed as we left.
However, we did take something with us - rain 😟. Bergen is considered the rainiest city in Europe with about 248 rainy days 🌧 per year (!!). And now a little cloud accompanies us wherever we go, alternating with bright sunshine. It can be really annoying if you want to cook!
