Two weeks is definitely not enough to travel across Argentina. Nevertheless, I have seen a lot and I am taking very different impressions back home. I have learned to love Buenos Aires: It is a vibrant metropolis where it is wonderful to live with a certain financial basis. The northwest of the country, especially the rural areas and the mountain villages in the Andes, paint a slightly different picture. There is a lot of poverty, the streets are dirty and littered outside the tourist relevant centers, and in larger cities like Salta the traffic chaos prevails, and one gets headaches from the bad air. The organized tours to the Andes also serve to give the local population the opportunity to sell their handmade articles to travelers. Sightseeing with an unwanted coffee tour. Understandable, but a bit annoying at the 5th stop at a souvenir stand. All in all, Argentina is an incredibly amazing country with breathtaking landscapes, fascinating vegetation for Europeans (I love cacti), a vibrant capital, friendly people with astonishing patience and composure, a very light and pleasant beer (Quilmes), and much more that makes it absolutely worth going back again and again. I am ending my current trip with a last stroll through Buenos Aires, a visit to the Teatro Colón, and a mandatory tango evening... :-) So, see you soon, Argentina! Goodbye! <3
