Arriving in Chinatown

Imechapishwa: 03.03.2017

After showering, we were hungry and went outside to the Chinatown district.

Many locals live here, you can only find tourists in the small streets for shopping (everything you don't need). We also found out that eating gluten-free here is not that easy. At the restaurants (full of tourists), everything is fried. The only option would be rice with vegetables for $18 per meal.

So we continued and ended up in a huge hall. There were over 100 different food stalls all around, with tables in the middle for eating and locals everywhere. We decided to eat there. The only problem was that many people didn't speak English, but with the help of the locals, pictures, and the ingredients in the kitchen, we got a gluten-free meal. Rice with green and red chilies, ginger and onion with meat (chicken and beef) fried in pure sesame oil. For drinks, we had freshly pressed bamboo, super tasty and refreshing and healthy. We were impressed by all the new flavors (in the future, we won't order anything spicy).

Afterwards, we walked through the 5 huge shopping centers, but there was nothing for tourists. It was interesting to see all the pills and flavor enhancers available. When I saw the chicks as a snack, I just wanted to get away...

So off to bed...

Today we will visit the famous sights and take our camera with us :)
