Football Friday 🏈

Hey Guys,

today starts the last school day of our first week in America. But today isn’t a normal school day. It’s one of the most important days for St. Ansgar because it’s football night.🎉🏈 Already in the morning, everybody was pretty excited about the game but also sad, because it’s probably the last one for the seniors. If you are going through the school today, you would only see red and white shirts from St. Ansgar. Here every student supports the football team and shows how proud they are to be a part of it. Pretty important are also Pep rally’s, which are a tradition at the school. It’s kind of a preparation for the game. The band was playing, the cheerleaders were dancing and also all stundents were cheering. There was a very good mood.

We are all very excited about the game tonight and looking forward to it.

...So it ends a beautiful and exciting day in America. :)

p.s.: Of course, we also had lessons today. Charlotte and I finished our art project, we started on Tuesday. We painted a picture, where the American and the German flag blend into each other to show to schools coming together.

Hallo alle zusammen,

heute beginnt der letzte Schultag unserer ersten Woche in Amerika. Doch heute ist kein normaler Schultag. Es ist ein besonders wichtiger Tag für St. Ansgar, denn die Football Mannschaft hat heute ein Spiel. Schon am Morgen konnte man allen die Vorfreude ansehen. Doch die Seniors (Schüler der 12. Klasse) waren ebenfalls traurig, denn es könnte das letzte Spiel für sie, innerhalb ihrer Schulzeit, sein. Wenn man heute durch die Schule ging, sah man ausschließlich rote und weiße Kleidung von St. Ansgar. So unterstützt jeder Schüler die Football Mannschaft und zeigt somit, wie stolz sie darauf sind, ein Teil davon zu sein. Sehr wichtig ist ebenfalls eine Tradition, die sie vor jedem Football Spiel machen, genannt „Pep Rally“. Die Band spielte, die Cheerleader tanzten und alle Schüler jubelten. So bereiten Sie sich auf das Spiel am Abend vor. Es herrschte sehr gute Stimmung.

Wir sind nun alle sehr gespannt auf das Spiel heute Abend!

...So endet ein schöner und aufregender Tag in Amerika. :)

p.s.: Natürlich hatten wir heute auch Unterricht. Charlotte und ich beendeten unser Kunst Projekt, welches wir am Dienstag begannen. Wir malten ein Bild, in dem die Amerikanische und die Deutsche Flagge ineinander übergehen, um unsere Verbundenheit auszudrücken.
