Back in the capital of Laos, we first went to the Buddha Park, where I met Ansgar with two Buddhist monks. After a nice conversation with English exercises and almost a marriage proposal, we rode Mickey (Ansgar's motorbike) to my familiar hostel (Ali Backpacker).
Our days in Vientiane were spent on the beach, goofing off, eating Farang food, meeting the police, and of course, the New Year's Eve party into 2018. We were allowed to celebrate New Year's Eve with Phou, a Laotian, and his family. In the classic style, in a large group on plastic chairs on the roadside with lots of beer and karaoke :) After a year without a longboard, I finally had to get a skateboard and zoomed along the Mekong. In the new year, we headed back north and I returned to Luang Prabang, where my motorcycle and backpack were waiting. Ansgar left a day ahead of me on his bike and made a stop in Vang Vien, while I took the bus. We spent a few days there and then, after almost two months without riding my motorcycle, we started our road trip. Destination: Hanoi, Vietnam Houseboat on the Mekong in Luang Prabang Dinner at the night market Christmas spirit in Laos as well :)
