Day 21: Pirin Mountains

Today we went up to our pitch at an altitude of about 1800m via Bansko, the Bulgarian winter sports center.

Bright sunshine, no wind - it was really comfortable. Those who wanted to went hiking with Detlef, our tour guide. Those who didn't want to just chilled in the sun.

Of course, we wanted to hike and it was beautiful. About 9 km, partly very challenging trails led us to a mountain lake at an altitude of about 2,200m. It was very demanding but also a lot of fun.

Back down we had a beer and then a shower. Right at the pitch, there is a simple lodge (mountain restaurant). The owner promised to heat it up nicely and the food is also supposed to be delicious.

The heating in the motorhome is now on and the night will probably be very cold.
