Finally, we went on vacation again and to R O M.
In a series of blog posts, we want to take you with us on our trip and give you some tips. (All mentioned brands and providers were self-paid and are marked here as unpaid advertising.)
Arrival: ✈️🚝🚌
We landed at Rome Ciampino Airport and then took the Ciampino Airlink to Rome. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket counter (at the airport) or on the bus. Card payment is also possible at the ticket counter. The bus departs directly in front of the airport and goes to Ciampino, and then continues by train to Rome Termini (main station). From there, you can either walk or take a bus to your destination. However, bus tickets must be purchased at the counter (which is hard to find) or you can download an app (we used nugo) and buy the tickets there.
Accommodation: 🛏
We made sure to get a relatively central accommodation in Rome so that we don't have to travel into the city. It's definitely worth the extra euros. We had our hotel near the Pantheon and were surrounded by wonderful restaurants and ice cream parlors.
Weather: 🌞
We had around 30 degrees Celsius and pure sunshine in August. We always took advantage of the lunchtime to take a little siesta and recover for the afternoon, so we wouldn't be fully exposed to the midday heat.
Part 2 is coming soon. :)
